Since the use of keyword meta tags became increasingly abused by SEOs, Google have focused on excellent content of high quality to determine the search engine’s rankings. News sites in particular had just about given up writing meta tags and were striving solely for fantastic headlines and articles to give them that extra boost up the rankings. Yet Google recently announced that it hadn’t totally dismissed the idea of meta tags for specific sites by revealing its “news_keyword” meta tag.
